Electoral populism at elections in Russia

As part of a larger international research project European Dialogue Expert Group and Konrad Adenauer Foundation study populism, a phenomenon widely seen both in Europe and Russia. Russian and European experts summarised the results of these studies in a book “Populism as a Common Challenge” which was published early in 2018. The European Dialogue Expert Group presents a chapter from the book, in which Alexander Kynev, political scientist from the Higher School of Economics, picks examples from the Russian elections to illustrate the entire range of populist techniques and their evolution in Russia.
